Do you want the wedding of your dreams minus the stress? Wedding planners are the perfect way to take the weight off your shoulders and enjoy your big day for what it's all about: you!
An Interview With A Dream Maker
WHAT EXACTLY IS A WEDDING PLANNER?
I can give my clients the gift of reassurance that everything is in-hand, and, because for a perfectionist like me, I know that would be a godsend!
Wedding planners are among the most organised, connected people on the planet. They are creative, quick thinkers and seriously hard workers.
For the last 10 years, I have always loved a challenge, loved making people happy, and loved hospitality. I love my job, especially as it means I can give my clients the gift of reassurance that everything is in-hand, and, because for a perfectionist like me, I know that would be a godsend!
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE CONSIDER A WEDDING PLANNER?
A wedding planning and/or stylist is a true wedding professional who essentially helps you eliminate the stress around organising such an intricate event, allows you to have more time to enjoy your engagement, and provides you with infinite knowledge, ideas and advice leading up to and on your big day.
We absorb all the complex elements of wedding planning and help you unlock your vision whilst providing constant reassurance and support, allowing you throughout the planning process to feel confident in all your decisions be that about logistical planning or visual styling. You can then immerse yourself in the process with zero stress and purely enjoy revelling in the possibilities of your wedding day! Plus, our network of talented suppliers and industry knowledge allows us to provide you with a team of creatives that compliment your brief and ensure an incredible delivery of your day.
As well as these physical tasks, as a planner I really do provide a lot of personal support. I treat all my clients as friends, and a huge perk of my job is getting to know them on a personal level, giving them advice, and pouring them a glass of wine if they need one!
WHEN SHOULD YOU START LOOKING FOR A PLANNER?
Wedding planners can join you in your process at any time and still be a huge help. For example, I offer Full Wedding Planning & Styling which is where I am alongside you in the journey from beginning to end (or sometimes after some couples try and go it alone and realise pretty quickly they are overwhelmed and need help!), it’s also good to know that when couples hire a wedding planner there is no set timescale you have to organise a day. A wedding can be planned alongside a planner anywhere from years to just a few months!
I also have an On The Day Management where I come in around 2/3 months before your big day, delve into your entire plan, tie everything together, and then manage and execute your whole wedding for you. Or I offer partial planning in which couples can hire me at any stage in the process on an hourly basis to help with elements of planning they are struggling with, this usually involves help finding suppliers or building a style guide and narrowing down their wedding vision!
WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO RESEARCH FOR ONE?
Online or social media such as Instagram is of course is an amazing place to start looking for a wedding planner, but I can highly recommend searching for planners on prestigious and trusted wedding blogs such as Love My Dress and Save The Date Magazine.
That way you know that anyone you begin to research is a certain calibre of professional, and then all you need to do is narrow down your choices as to who relates to you and the wedding you’re envisioning best!
HOW DO YOU SUGGEST SOMEONE SELECTS THE PERFECT WEDDING PLANNER FOR THEM?
When choosing a planner, you should always make sure that they are the right fit for you, that you feel you can trust them, and get along with them. Once you have had a browse on different platforms follow them on Instagram for a few weeks before putting in your enquiry, you need to be able scroll down their website or social media platforms and feel like you relate to them as people, like their style and gain value from any advice they give. It’s a great idea to read a wedding planners blog, seek out any publications they may have been featured in that might give more detailed advice too!
Once you have a shortlist of planners before booking it’s so important you contact them and meet them. When meeting have some questions to ask each one if you would like, but it really is like a first date, when you know you know!
